Places to Visit In Kentucky
1. Bowling Green
Bowling Green has been dubbed Kentucky’s “motor city” since Chevrolet has been manufacturing the Corvette here since 1981; you can take a factory tour or places to visit in Kentucky the National Corvette Museum, both of which are located here. Founded in 1798, the city served as Kentucky’s Confederate capital during the Civil War.
Forbes rated it one of the best places to retire in 2014. The city has a lot of parks, so it’s a great area to experience nature in an urban setting. Fountain Square, with its Victorian fountain, the hands-on Barren River Imaginative Museum of Science, and Aviation Heritage Park are among the other main attractions.
2. Big South Fork National River
You may get up close and personal with nature at the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. The national park, located in northern Kentucky’s Cumberland Plateau, offers miles of hiking trails, rock climbing and whitewater rafting activities, equestrian riding, and camping. 3. Land Between the Lakes

4. Kentucky Bourbon Trail
The Kentucky Bourbon Trail is a must-see for all spirited tourists. The tour visits nine major distilleries in the state, including Wild Turkey, Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, and Four Roses, as well as some smaller craft distilleries.
You’ll discover how America’s original spirit is manufactured, visit distilleries, and possibly sample some of the state’s best. Kentucky has been producing bourbon since the 1700s when farmers learned it was easier to send their maize and grain supplies to the market in liquid form.

Paducah is a tiny town on the Ohio and Tennessee rivers. Paducah was founded in 1821, but it wasn’t until 1827 that William Clark (of the Lewis and Clark Expedition) laid planned the town.
The National Quilt Museum, which organizes an annual international quilt exhibition, is the city’s most popular attraction. The Floodwall paintings, which depict Paducah’s history in 50 panels, are just a short walk away. Paducah is also noted for its historic district, which includes 20 blocks listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The city is also known for its thriving music and cultural scene.
6. Cumberland Gap

9. Mammoth Cave National Park
Spelunkers are undoubtedly already aware that Mammoth Cave is the world’s longest cave system. To date, 405 miles (652 km) of passageways have been explored; this amount grows each year as new discoveries are made. The caves were discovered by hunters in 1797 and mined for calcium nitrate during the War of 1912.
Several caves are open to the public, with electric-lit excursions available. A lantern tour that entails crawling through muddy corridors is available for more adventurous tourists. The national park is one of the most popular sites to visit in Kentucky, with around two million people visiting each year, with approximately 500,000 enjoying a cave tour.
10. Louisville
Louisville, named after King Louis XVI, was founded on the Falls of Ohio in 1778, making it one of the oldest towns west of the Appalachian Mountains. It is the state capital of Kentucky.
